It hurts in the best way possible. I'm obsessed over Crux. He is sexy and hot AF. He is the bad boy, billionaire with a HIGH complex of knight in shining armour, a protector and his obsession has not limits. He is a hard man, volatile and explosive. A little bird will soften his hard edges. He didn't have a purpose until he saw Farren. She gave him more than he tough. He will heal the little bird who has broken wings and damaged soul.

Farren broke my heart. She endured abuse and people who mean to take care and protect her didn't do it. Her wounds were open. She was lost and hurt. Crux will heal her and protect her. He will be her anchor. He will be the one who will fight and kill her demons.

He killed for her. He will do anything to take care of her. I highly recommend you this book for every reader over the world. Could love heal the open wounds of a broken soul? Farren Hallewell is broken. She scared and broken and just wants to be invisible so she can get Crux Malcolm knew that Farren Hallewell was his from the moment he saw her. Yet, all she feels is relief. She may be his obsession, but he is her safe place. For being novella length, Obsessive Addiction really tries to pack a lot of story into just about pages. This tale is very dark and riddled with bunches of triggers, not limited to violence, thoughts of suicide and sexual abuse. Crux is definitely an obsessive personality - almost terrifyingly so.

For him, Farren and her welfare comes first, above everything else. Farren is an achingly beautiful broken soul. The one and only person who has ever protected her or made her feel safe is Crux. Even though, she struggles, There is much more to Farren than meets the eye, and I love her inner strength, especially knowing how hard people have tried to beat it out of her. While I enjoyed this story, I did want more in depth characterization.

I really wanted to know a bit more about what makes him tick and why his personality is obsessive. With such an intense topic as sexual abuse, additional length and detail would have helped put this book over the top for me. The Malcolm Brother all have an Obsession and for Crux Malcolm, that obsession happens to be the girl next store.

The heroine Farren has suffered unspeakable horrors; and her rainbow was hidden by clouds even after Crux goes to prison to protect her.

The plot was amazing, the characters were amazing, and I loved the Malcolm brothers. I'm beyond excited to read their stores. I loved this book so much, I might go as far as to say it's my favorite. Am I missing some? Somethings missing! I love you all very much but Crux just kind of walked in and strutted to the front. Even King placed a chair beside him because Crux is everything an Alpha male can be. He's sexy, he's temperamental, he's protective, he obsessive and when he finds something he wants, he goes for it.

Ferren goes through some really really rough stuff. But, Crux is determined to help her through it. The blurb is enough to tell you that this is one crazy book that you will quickly become addicted to The title of this book does it justice. The man is very obsessive over his addiction. While I didn't have a hard time reading it, my emotions were all over the place. KL gave many warnings about this book before giving out ARCs.

While I'm not one to take trigger warnings lightly, I know a good bunch of readers do. DO NOT I repeat This book is filled with possible triggers. I will say that I wish the book was longer in length so we could have delved much more into the characters because I would have wanted alittle more added to the story plus I didn't want this to end… I cant wait to read the next book in this series. My rating: 4. Oct 19, Lauren rated it it was amazing Shelves: short-story , fast-paced , older-guy-younger-woman , emotional-rollercoaster , abused-heroine , arc , trigger-warning. This story is short, fast paced and filled with emotion. I devoured this book within half an hour and was emotional throughout.

I really liked this story but I feel guilty saying that when Farren went what she went through… but I did enjoy the story — sorry not sorry. The chemistry between Crux and Farren was undeniable. I liked them as a couple. The emotions they had for one another were raw. I loved that Crux was addicted and obsessed with Farren. Farren had feelings for Crux but he was her saviour. He was her safety blanket and her protector.

Crux is a fierce protector. My heart ached for Farren and all she had been through. The feels and emotion hit me and there were a few times that I teared up. I was happy that Farren and Ben bonded and they finally became friends. Without saying too much, I was happy that Crux found Austin for Farren and that she let him into her life.

Overall, this book got me emotional but I liked that Crux and Farren both got the happily ever after that they deserved, especially Farren. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an enjoyable yet emotional read. I cannot wait for the next book in this series. Oh my breaking heart This book I don't think I could ever, ever write a review to do this book justice.

My emotions are all over the place right now The beginning of this book starts with Crux getting out of prison on a technology after serving a few years for killing the man who sexually abused Farren "Ren". She is 17, still in school and getting bullied. As soon as Crux is free, he goes to her school to watch her. He se Oh my breaking heart From that point on, he is her protector, her anchor and her salvation.

He sees no one but her and he fights to help Ren feel a sense of normalcy and helps her battle her nightmares. Now, there's obviously a lot more to the story but I won't go into any more detail because you just need to experience this book yourself. There are some definite triggers but no rape committed, just flashbacks and nightmares of step dad touching the heroine which is still a horrible thing.

WSJ Pro : Central Banks

I believe Crux has been celebate since meeting Ren. I very much enjoy this author and in my opinion, this is her best book yet. Which is really saying something since all of her books are amazing. Great HEA ending. Great job KL Donn!!! I look forward to more from you.

The Open Wound of Reconstruction

Nov 06, Kaci Stewart rated it it was amazing. You know those books where the emotional factor is so high you feel it literally in ever fiber of your being? Or those books where you want to crawl inside the pages and follow the characters around just to be closer to them? What about those books where no matter how hard you try to put it down you physically can't do it? That is this book. Crux isn't a bad dude, he just did a bad thing in the name of love. And he'd do it a thousand times over if it meant Farren was safe. She's lived a hellish You know those books where the emotional factor is so high you feel it literally in ever fiber of your being?

She's lived a hellish life, but she's making the best of it until Crux comes back. Having him back in her life is a whirlwind of emotions and decisions and love like she's never experienced. KL did an amazing job of making you feel what the characters were feeling. You felt the angst, the love, the heartache the anger The story line was good, believable, fast paced and the secondary characters really took the book to a whole different level. Those other Malcolm Boys, the ones we have only meet in passing, yeah they were hot as sin and I'm ready to see if them be thrown into mayhem by their own loves!

I cannot wait!!!! Oct 15, Leslee rated it it was amazing.
